Buchanan Land Use Consulting began in 2016 after I successfully navigated permitting 20 acres I owned on the coast of Mendocino County. This included adding septic, electric, a well, and multiple residential and commercial buildings. After the County was impressed with my permitting work, I started offering my services to others in Mendocino County struggle to make it through the red tape of Mendocino County Planning and Building Department. I pioneered Buchanan Land Use Consulting and rose to the occasion in 2017 to help local residents realize their dreams.

To date, Buchanan Land Use Consulting has processed more hoop house and greenhouse permits than nearly all other land use consultants in Mendocino County. Completion of wells, ponds, grading projects, Commercial buildings, ADUs, Garage and Agricultural building conversions to residential dwellings, Class K residences, as well as having worked extensively with Mendocino County Code Enforcement to have building and other violations fixed are all part of the package. In addition to these areas, the experience, expertise, and advocacy is what my company is about when it comes to handling any agricultural and residential permit required by the Mendocino County Planning and Building Services, California Department of Fish and Game (CDFW), California Waterboard, Department of Transportation, Air Quality, and any other State and Local agencies.

At Buchanan Land Use Consulting, the mission and pride of the company is keeping the focus on each clients’ individual needs, having a team of engineers, biologists, and other land use professionals at Buchanan Land Use Consulting's disposal that are dedicated to seeing each client project from initial idea to project completion makes that possible.
